Greetings, writers—
Back in September, I asked you to think about expertise: what you were really good at or knew a lot about, and also what your characters were really good at or knew a lot about, and then I asked you to think about how these areas of expertise might shape your story’s subject, conflict, or theme.
This was an exercise perhaps primarily useful for fiction writers, but with a few tweaks and four simple steps, it can be used to write a personal essay.
